Apr 27: First morning flight with balloons since 8 or 9 months ago. A good two-hour excursion along the Poinciana Pkwy, then meeting up with the ballons in Davenport up to Champion's gate, through Hilochee Osprey and back. HM181.2

Apr 13: Weather finally cooperated for a short flight to become acquainted with a new LZ. Watch out for sugar sand.

Feb 26: Shorter 80min flight from X25.

Feb 5: Amazing afternoon flight from X25. Met James upon landing.

Feb 2: First flight of 2025. Calm evening, 2-hour flight.

Dec 30: Final flight of 2024. Met up with some other pilots (unknown) in the air and flew with one for an hour into the sunset.

Nov 14: Superb 90 minute evening flight out of X25. There was a balloon in the center of the airstrip upon my return.

Oct 13: Afternoon flight from X25. Strong winds aloft, 12-16 m.p.h., but otherwise a nice reconnaisance flight after the hurricane. HM158

Sep 30: Afternoon flight from X25. It felt like a top 10 flight. It was that good.

Sep 15: 2h 10m flight from X25. Afternoon weather has been terrible, so I forced myself to this morning flight.

Aug 29: First afternoon flight of the summer, and it was great! This was definitely magic because I'm pretty sure I've never flown in the afternoon in August after 7 years of flying.

Aug 18: First flight from X25. Absolutely perfect morning.

Aug 13: I feel like this was the first proper summer morning, where winds were nil everywhere and at all altitudes.

July 27: Fun flight with 3 balloons.

July 23: A little strong before sunrise between 100 and 1500, and there was quite a bit of convection happening between 250 and 500 making it turbulent. But it was a good flight out to Fantasy of Flight and back.

July 16: Somewhat strong winds aloft from 100 to 2500, but a good chance for a relaxing hands-off flight.

July 13: Calm morning, but had a small scare when I wasn't getting thrust from throttling up. I'm pretty sure my clutch was work down to the metal, and it's since been replaced.

July 3: Relaxing morning flight with calm wind on ground and 10-12mph winds aloft out of the SSE.

June 29: Fun morning through Lake Alfred.

June 25: Calm. Warm. Amazing.

June 14: All the clouds! Interesting flight with all kinds of moisture and clouds at all heights!

June 8: Winds out of the west! A bit strong aloft, but a fun time.

June 4: This was a fun 2-hour flight with two balloons way out east over the forest between Loughman and Kissimmee.

May 26: This was a fun morning with balloons on a long trek, but the lack of rain to cool the ground overnight is keeping thermals alive even before sunrise. The near-100F temps daily has compounded this.

May 24: Decent morning!

May 17: Finally a good morning after a little over two weeks. Covered a lot of ground in 2h 20m.

May 1: First morning flight in 7 months. 2+ hours. Epic!

Apr 19: Probably the final afternoon flight of the season as the wind begins to pick up well before sunset at this point.

Apr 14: Even better than yesterday. These have been amazing afternoons.

Apr 13: Relatively calm winds and very low humidity with an approaching high-pressure system from the west. The dry air mass prevented strong thermals from forming, so this was an unexpected April afternoon flight with few bumps an hour before sunset.

Mar 30: Decent flight, but my phone kicked the bucket early in. I had to buy a new one on the way home.

Mar 20: Cloudless sky after a cold front. Temp 76 at launch, 69 at land. Winds were about 6-9 at launch, but only from thermals. Actual wind profile was nil all the way up. Great night. Landed at 8 p.m., 20 minutes after sunset.

Mar 15: This was a mostly blue sky afternoon, and the thermals never really died off. Unless there are some cloudy afternoons I will probably be switching to mornings from this point.

Mar 13: Even better than last night and bumped into a friend in the sky!

Mar 7: Decent evening flight

Feb 25: This started out with enough wind to do a reverse launch, which is rare! Despite a cloudless sky, thermals were mild to medium and died off completely by about 10 minutes before sunset. All wind started at about 7mph @305, but after sunset those winds were overcome above 200 ft. with stronger east winds between 7 and 10.

Feb 15: Calm wind on the ground, about 3-4mph aloft. It got a little twitchy aloft just after sunset.

Jan 26: EPIC! The forecasts were way off, showing much higher winds. Ground wind was nil at least 2 hours before sunset. Winds aloft were no more than 4-5 mph.

Jan 7: This was a last-minute flight. I watched the wind for a good part of the day, and it wasn't close to the forecast. Lauched with 45 minutes to sunset, and it did eventually get down to about 4-5 mph on the ground at sunset, but I stayed between 500 and 1000 for most of the flight.

Dec 31: Woot! Winds ramped up from 7 to 10 between 4 and 4:45, but the high-pressure system won the day. Winds then died down to nil by 5:45. I flew until 6:05.

Dec 27: About the same as yesterday, maybe a bit stronger aloft.

Dec 26: After two solid weeks of high wind, I snuck this one in. The primary objective was to test my new helmet, new GoPro 12 chase cam, and 100 hour maintenance on the AC Revolution. Ground wind 5-7 and temp 72F.

Dec 9: Low expectations again and not planning on it, but the forecast was way too high. GFS said 10 mph gusting 13 or 14. It was actually 1-2 gusting 5-6. Aloft it was laminar between 5 and 12 mph. The weird sheer layer was at about 30-50 ft.

Dec 7: This started out a little windy, but all in all it was pretty smooth. I didn't have big expectations, the forecast was 4-5 on the ground. However, 5 minutes before sunset all the wind died. I flew until 5:55.

Nov 23: Hour flight, kinda cold, kinda windy

Nov 10: Decent afternoon flight with three rounds of acro after sunset!

Nov 7: This was the first actually decent afternoon in terms of weather since Oct 22. This was a fun flight.

Oct 22: Another. Epic. Flight.

Oct 19: Evening flight. This was a small window of excellent weather in an otherwise terrible few weeks. Even if there are no more amazing days this year, I'll be happy.

Oct 9: Evening flight. Lots of wind sheer. Launched 100 minutes prior to sunset to ride some thermals. That was fun for about 20 minutes. The wind never let up and the sky started transforming again (yesterday's front had passed to the south by today), so I landed about 30 minutes prior to sunset.

Oct 6: Evening flight. Not the best, but not the worst.

Sep 23: First evening flight since January! It was amazing. First evening flight with the Freeride2 and Revolution 200. Came across a motorcycle dude parked with his tripod out, but fat chance I'll find footage now that recent photos can't be discovered on Instagram.

Sep 10: XC from Horseshoe Creek to X07 and back.

Aug 26: Great morning with balloons more east than typical.

Aug 11: Another calm morning and ~79F at launch. These are the best mornings of the year!

July 30: Calm morning! Awesome temps!

July 15: Laminar above 400ft with a 8-11 wind out of the WSW.

July 14: Relatively calm winds. Winds aloft from the west maybe 3-5 mph.

July 2: XC from Horseshoe Creek to X07 and back (again). Winds were about 1-2 mph on the ground and 5-6 aloft. It was a great morning. It takes about 35 minutes into the wind trimmed out on the Freeride 2 16 and then 25 or less on the way back.

June 26: XC from Horseshoe Creek to X07 and back. Trashy air beneath 500 ft. despite glowing forecast.

May 15: Calm on ground. 0-6 100 and higher.

May 10: Calm on ground. 2-12 100 to 1000. 2 hour flight around north Davenport with 1 hot-air balloon.

Apr 22: Calm on ground. 5-10 100 to 1000. XC flight from Horeshoe Creek (Davenport) to south of X07 and back. 1 hour 45 minute flight.

Apr 15: Calm on ground. Very light up to 1000. Flew to the middle of nowhere (literally no city name) on the east edge of Polk to find the Poinciana FAWN weather station along Scrub Jay trail. (Spoiler: It's self sufficient and solar powered!) I then headed north for balloons and other shenanigans.

Apr 8: Calm on ground until about 90 minutes after sunrise. Winds aloft somewhat strong at ~16mph above 1000 ft.

Apr 3: Calm and cloudy morning. First flight with new AC Revolution 200. 3rd flight with Freeride2. 90 minutes.

Mar 8-Apr 2: Too windy to fly every day. An attempt was made Mar 28 AM, but we were fogged out.

Mar 7: XC flight around Lake Wales with Aly. Bok to X25 to Lake Ashton to CSX Intermodal to cow pastures to Amtrak's mainline and back to the airport! Glassy smooth morning down low.

Mar 5: First flight (morning) with the Freeride 2 16! Calm on ground, a bit of wind between 100 and 1000ft.

Jan 11: Perfect high-pressure day with nil wind and only thermals to deal with until about 45 minutes to sunset. This was a 90m test flight of the Freeride 2 16m2. The wing is everything I've been looking for, so I bought one!

Dec 17: Overcast day means no thermals! Calm winds and a Falcon 9 launch!

Dec 11: Originally this day was forecast to be one of the few days with 1-2mph winds everywhere all day. I was hopeful it would calm down, but this ended up being a short 30-minute session with some high-wind launch/landing practice.

Dec 9: Afternoon flight in Davenport with some good weather to start and perfection in the last 30 minutes.

Dec 4: Awesome afternoon in Lake Alfred, Haines City, and Davenport.

Oct 28: Third and final test of Sirocco 3 20m2. Calm winds everywhere. Morning flight out of Davenport.

Oct 25: Second test of Sirocco 3 20m2 because weather has been terrible. Launched into 1-2 mph from the west. Stronger than expected wind aloft (6-12 mph). Landed to the east. Afternoon flight from Horseshoe Creek.

Oct 13: First test of Sirocco 3 20m2. Nil wind launch easier than Spyder 20m2. 2-5 mph on ground, 5-15 aloft. Morning flight in Davenport.

Oct 1: 5 mph NNW wind. Afternoon flight out of X07.

Sep 4: 0-1 mph E wind 0-100ft, 5-10 mph SE wind 100+. Morning flight.

Aug 27: 0-1 mph SE wind 0-200ft, 3-4 mph SE wind 200-1000ft. Morning flight.

Aug 7: S wind, 0-1 mph on ground, 7-10 mph aloft below 350. 5 mph above. About 10 balloons!

July 18: SE wind, 1 mph on ground, 7-8 mph aloft.

July 10: S wind, 0 mph on ground, 10-12 mph aloft until about 1000 ft. At 1500 ft it was 3-4 mph in the opposite direction. This was a XC flight first north to the Mickey Mouse forest in Clermont where I had a good tail wind. On the flight back I also had a slight tail wind once I climbed to 1500.

July 9: W/SW wind, 0 mph on ground, 4-6 mph aloft. Calm flight with 8 balloons.

July 5: E wind, 0 mph on ground, 4-10 mph aloft. Calm flight with about 6 balloons. Really awesome time!

June 23: SE wind, 0 mph on ground, 4-7 mph aloft. Very calm flight with Mike & Jim!

June 18: NE wind, 0 mph on ground, 4-12 mph aloft. Mostly cloudly flight, but awesome. The wind unexpectedly started increasing 90 minutes into the flight, and there was some rain getting close. I landed early. I ran into the balloons staging in a new location.

June 11: S wind, 3-6 mph on ground, 6-12 mph aloft. Decent 75 min flight with 8 balloons, Mike, and the crew from One-Up Adventures.

June 10: S wind, 0 mph on ground, 5-15 mph aloft. Decent 2hr flight with 3 balloons!

May 28: SE wind, 2-3 mph on ground, 2-8 mph aloft. Awesome 2hr flight with balloons!

May 24: SE wind, 0 mph on ground, 5-10 mph aloft. Awesome 2hr flight with balloons!

May 12: S wind, 3-5 mph on ground, 14-22 mph aloft. Watched the sunrise, then landed.
